Summary:
The client, located in the heart of Houston, Texas, is a nationally recognized Plaintiffs Personal Injury law firm. They are presently involved in extremely high stakes litigation in multiple states and jurisdictions across the country. As a result, they are undergoing a phase of rapid growth and building a team of highly qualified, experienced, and highly motivated individuals.

Responsibilities:
We are adding attorneys with 2 - 5 years of experience in litigation. Our ideal candidate will have an interest in gaining experience doing the following:
  • Adhering to office standard operating procedures and systems throughout case work-up in order to promote seamless and efficient teamwork amongst colleagues;
  • Working with Firm leadership, marketing/operations personnel, and outside vendors to implement personal marketing and branding strategies in order to promote business development through referral relationships and professional and community involvement;
  • Evaluating potential cases for viability at intake, including drafting interoffice memoranda regarding your position on whether the case should be handled by the Firm;
  • Handling all aspects of written discovery, including persistently following up with opposing counsel about discovery deficiencies;
  • Participating in team case strategy meetings and updating Firm leadership on case progress through usage of state of the art case management software and systems;
  • Handling all aspects of taking and defending depositions;
  • Handling all aspects of Motion practice up to and including dispositive motions such as motions for summary judgment and motions to dismiss;
  • Working with local counsel in cases filed out of state;
  • Preparing for trial by leading a fully staffed trial team in preparing trial documents, pretrial motion practice, working with jury consultants to pick juries, preparing trial notebooks, and the like;
  • Supervising paralegals, law clerks and staff associated with cases;

Qualifications:
We will consider younger associates with a desire to take their careers to the next level, solo practitioners who are looking to gain experience working on high value, catastrophic and wrongful death cases, attorneys with experience working for insurance defense / captive counsel firms, and Assistant District Attorneys. This position offers potential for fee splits and commissions for attorney-originated cases.
