Description:
A Class Action & Mass Tort Defense Law Firm has an exciting opportunity for a Law and Motion/Appellate attorney, with three or more years of experience, to join our Law and Motion and Appeals Team.Responsibilities:
- Draft pretrial motions and oppositions, including pleading-related motions, discovery motions, and dispositive motions.
- Appear at hearings on pre-trial law and motion matters.
- Draft trial motions and assist with preparing trial documents, including motions in limine, trial briefs, pocket briefs, and jury instructions and verdicts.
- Drafting post-trial motions, including motions for new trial and motions for attorney's fees.
- Opportunity to handle appellate cases and conduct appellate arguments, including learning from the firm's experienced appellate practitioners.
- Conduct legal research and provide recommendations to clients and litigation attorneys on complex legal issues.
- Analyze and assess litigation and appellate strategies.
Requirements:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and current good standing with the California State bar.
- General experience with pleading challenges, anti-SLAPP motions, MSJ's, writs & appeals.
- 3+ years of civil/general litigation experience.
- 3+ years law & motion experience. Federal experience is a plus!
- Demonstrable experience researching, analyzing, and handling cases.
- Detail-oriented with excellent writing, communication, and case analysis abilities.
