Description:
A Residential Building Construction Company is looking for a dynamic Associate General Counsel to join our expanding team. In this role, you will play a key part in advising on a range of intricate legal issues, providing daily support to cross-functional teams, and driving the company's growth through the creation and negotiation of contracts with vendors, customers, channel partners, and other third parties. Responsibilities include contract review, sub-contract agreements, MSA's, NDA's, software and warehouse contracts, leases, and insurance. This position will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including construction and service contracts, terms of use, partnerships, vendor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other commercial or product licensing agreements.
- Work closely and collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and provide strategic counsel on legal issues impacting A Residential Building Construction Company's products, business, and customers.
- Support the development and maintenance of legal resources and materials to aid business stakeholders in the development of innovative, compliant products and services.
- Establish internal process for legal review and approval of all contracts and commercial agreements
- Monitor evolving laws that may impact A Residential Building Construction Company's products, services, Federal/State rebate eligibility, and assist with operationalizing and implementing compliant solutions where applicable.
- Work in partnership with members of A Residential Building Construction Company's Executive team and leverage internal subject matter expertise and integrate it into applicable products, services, and commercial matters.
Qualifications:
A J.D. from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school, and membership in good standing to at least one state bar.
- Up to 6+ years of experience practicing corporate law at a law firm or in-house and a proven track record of success.
- At least 3 years of experience negotiating commercial contracts, preferably in the construction, renewable energy, or building sectors.
- Strong business and legal acumen with the ability to: quickly identify legal and business issues; balance risks; and devise and articulate creative and practical solutions to various internal and external audiences in a time-sensitive dynamic and fast-paced global environment.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and drafting skills (contracts, memoranda, etc.) with an emphasis on attention to relevant detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities effectively, and meet deadlines.
