We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Attorney to join our esteemed team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing assistance to our Law Enforcement Defense practice group. Responsibilities:
  • Litigate in various courts, including state and federal courts, to defend our clients' interests and protect their rights.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including complaints, answers, motions, and briefs, in a clear and persuasive manner.
  • Conduct legal research to provide accurate and timely legal advice to clients.
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, trials, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
  • Take and defend depositions of witnesses, including expert witnesses and opposing parties.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and provide support on various stages of litigation.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in legal research and drafting to enhance our legal services.

Qualifications:
  • Illinois and Federal court admissions required
  • Prefer candidate with 2-5 years of civil rights/law enforcement defense practice or 5-10 years of general civil litigation practice;
  • Experience should include federal litigation; experience with 42 U.S.C. 1983 and related law is a strong plus;
  • Very good to excellent writing skills also preferred;
  • Position is a hybrid position but potentially open to fully remote
