About This Role:
A Government Entity, Office of Legal Services (OLS) is seeking multiple Attorneys to join the OLS team. The Attorney positions are crucial in reaching our mission of providing Californians with access to affordable, integrated, high-quality health care, including medical, dental, mental health, substance use treatment services and long-term care. Help us actualize our vision to preserve and improve the overall health and well-being of all Californians. Telework is subject to DHCS' Telework Program guidelines.

The Fiscal and Financing Branch (FFB) provides advice and counsel to support A Government Entity program implementation, policy development and ongoing administration; A Government Entity fiscal and financial administration (forecasting/costing, budget development, accounting) and strategy; oversight of local government federal reimbursement; administration of supplemental payment programs; development and implementation of Medi-Cal fee-for-service and capitated rates; collection and recovery issues; and building departmental cross sector strategic partnerships. The FFB also provides legal support to the Office of Administrative Hearings and Appeals and provides litigation support to the State and United States Departments of Justice.

The Attorney will perform legal research, draft legal opinions and memorandums, and provide house counsel advice to A Government Entity programs. The Attorney will draft a variety of documents, assist in applying law to specific factual situations, support trial counsel in litigation, and represent A Government Entity in administrative hearings.
