Under the general direction of the Assistant Chief Counsel of the Litigation Bureau, the Attorney IV handles, directs and acts as the lead attorney in highly complex, sensitive and important litigation matters and acts as departmental counsel with particular emphasis on handling highly sensitive employment law matters, and performs other job-related functions, as assigned. The Attorney IV formulates vital litigation strategies for highly complex, sensitive and important litigation matters and acts in a lead capacity over other Litigation Bureau litigation attorneys in employment law matters. Travel may be required up to twenty-five percent (25%) of the time.

Shall also consider Attorney III. Under the general direction of the Assistant Chief Counsel of the Litigation Bureau, the Attorney III will handle or assist in handling all aspects of the most complex litigation matters, act as departmental counsel with respect to highly sensitive personnel matters, and perform other job-related functions, as assigned. This position may require the incumbent to travel up to twenty-five (25%) of the time.

The location of the position will be based on the selected candidate however, the position will report directly to the Litigation Bureau's Assistant Chief Counsel, who is located in Sacramento. Offices where the position may be located include: (1) Glendale, (2) Irvine, (3) Diamond Bar, (4) Culver City, (5) Riverside, (6) Cerritos, (7) San Diego.

Working Conditions:
  • Position may be located in a high-rise building.
