Description:

An American Software Development Company  is looking for a dynamic Commercial Counsel to join the An American Software Development Company  Legal team. We partner with teams across the company to develop solutions for the legal challenges (and opportunities) we encounter as we continue to develop creative augmented reality experiences and platforms.

Responsibilities:
  • Review, draft, and negotiate diverse agreements (inbound services, technology and IP licenses, SaaS, sponsorships, etc.) ensuring alignment with An American Software Development Company 's policies and risk parameters.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to optimize partnership with the business, and to ensure agreements are consistent with internal corporate policies and processes.
  • Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of standard forms, trainings, legal processes and systems.
  • Think creatively about novel legal issues arising from AR and real-world location-based games.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members and stakeholders, including regular and reliable attendance and participation in meetings.
  • Required in-office 2 days on Monday and Wednesday.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of legal practice at both a well-regarded law firm and a corporate legal department.
  • Experience negotiating and drafting a range of legal agreements; enterprise experience is a plus.
  • Highly responsive, client service-oriented attitude.
  • Strong desire to take initiative and, when needed, to work independently to problem-solve effectively.
  • Intellectual curiosity and interest in the technology industry.
  • Member in good standing of the California Bar, or eligible to register as Registered In-House Counsel.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment and handle stress appropriately and/or ability to solve practical problems and be sufficiently adaptable to handle dynamic situations with little advance notice.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams with ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal communications, including synchronous interactions with others.
