The Role:
A Provider of A Cloud-Based Portfolio Management and Risk System is looking for an exceptional attorney to join our team as Legal Counsel. The Legal Counsel position is ideal for a self-sufficient and resourceful legal leader and is open to candidates located anywhere in the United States. Reporting to A Provider of A Cloud-Based Portfolio Management and Risk System's Associate General Counsel – Commercial, this role offers a unique opportunity to support A Provider of A Cloud-Based Portfolio Management and Risk System's commercial contracting and partnership agreements in EMEA and across the globe. More specifically, you will partner directly with internal stakeholders in Sales, Account Management, and A Provider of A Cloud-Based Portfolio Management and Risk System's Global Partnership team to provide front-line legal advice and support. In your role, you will also engage with A Provider of A Cloud-Based Portfolio Management and Risk System clients and their counsel to drive positive outcomes. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who demonstrates a strong desire to learn, issue spot, and synthesize the complex into clear, actionable next steps. Moreover, we're looking for someone with high character, and an equally high emotional quotient (EQ), that is driven to do things the right way.

What You'll Do:
  • Work closely with A Provider of A Cloud-Based Portfolio Management and Risk System Sales, Account Management, and A Provider of A Cloud-Based Portfolio Management and Risk System's Global Partnership and Alliances teams to stand up, negotiate, and close transactions with prospective clients, existing clients, and other third parties
  • Work with other A Provider of A Cloud-Based Portfolio Management and Risk System departments to improve processes, internal controls and create efficiencies
  • Exercise superb judgment working with A Provider of A Cloud-Based Portfolio Management and Risk System clients, service providers, and counterparties on legal issues that positively contribute to A Provider of A Cloud-Based Portfolio Management and Risk System's continued growth and success
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of commercial agreements, including master service agreements, license agreements, referral agreements, NDAs, and other vendor agreements
  • Identify, research, analyze, and advise teams on a range of relevant legal issues
  • Communicate complex legal concepts in simple terms

Who We Need:
  • Juris Doctor and qualified to practice law, in good standing, in at least one U.S. State
  • 3+ years of experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Strong communication and writing skills, with the ability to interact with senior management, C-Suite executives, and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Understanding of contract best practices, including general understanding of intellectual property, capital markets, and data privacy issues
  • Analytically-minded with a creative problem-solving approach
  • Strong business acumen and ability to quickly exercise good business judgment
  • Self-starter with excellent responsiveness and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • FinTech experience, including SaaS sales contracting, and/or financial services experience a plus, but not a requirement
