Position Summary:
Legal Counsel advise on corporate governance matters and compliance with corporate laws and regulations.The role plays a crucial role in the development and enhancement of insurance policies and products. They review policy wordings, assess legal implications, and provide input on compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

What will your job entail?
Essential Functions:
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial and transactional agreements, such as non-disclosure agreements, customer contracts, and vendor contracts.
  • Review and revise marketing and promotional materials.
  • Provide support to senior attorneys with intellectual property management and protection.
  • Work closely with our legal and business teams as well as collaborate with various departments to help accomplish strategic objectives.
  • Conduct legal and factual research, data analysis and reporting as requested.
  • Utilize contract management software to manage agreements, amendments, legal and compliance due diligence and related tasks.
  • Identify and assess legal and business risks to the Company.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate relevant information to business leaders and/or executives.
  • Uphold the security and confidentiality of documents, data and potential business transactions.
  • Interpret and apply Company policies, procedures and processes.
  • Perform other relevant duties as requested by senior attorneys and other executives.

Work Experience:
  • 3 – 7 years' experience as a practicing lawyer, preferably with commercial and/or contract experience.
  • Excellent legal, analytical, contract review, drafting, and negotiating skills.
  • Exceptional communication, project management and organization skills with the ability to develop trust and confidence from colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Able to identify and articulate client/colleague needs and work through complex problems.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects and effectively manage time on own.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with contract management software and/or technology using workflow is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision.
  • Critical attention to details.
  • Proven track record of being a team player.

Education:
Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school required.

Licenses:
  • License to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction.
