A Food & Beverage Manufacturing Company is seeking a Corporate Counsel, Regulatory to join our Legal team. The corporate regulatory attorney is responsible for managing and overseeing all regulatory compliance issues within the company. This includes advising on legal and regulatory matters, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and representing the company in regulatory proceedings. The corporate regulatory attorney works closely with various departments to develop and implement compliance programs and strategies. This is a remote position that can be worked from anywhere, preference given to candidates located in the Chicago, IL or Hanover, PA area.

Candidates must have 5 years of experience, preferably within a corporate legal department. Candidates must have a J.D. and an active license to practice. Strong knowledge of regulatory law, compliance requirements, and familiarity with industry specific regulations and standards is crucial in this position. Candidates must also possess superior negotiation and communication skills. Candidates must demonstrate a high attention to detail as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Corporate Counsel, Regulatory:
  • Ensure the company complies with all relevant local, state, federal, and international laws and regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs and policies.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on regulatory issues to the company's executives, board members, and other employees.
  • Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to the company's operations.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company.
  • Prepare and submit required regulatory filings and reports. Ensure timely compliance with all reporting obligations.
  • Identify potential regulatory risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management policies and procedures.
  • Conduct internal audits and investigations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Address any compliance issues identified and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for employees on regulatory compliance and legal requirements.
  • Prepare and review regulatory filings, license applications, and other required documentation. Maintain accurate records of all regulatory activities.
  • Represent the company in regulatory proceedings and negotiations.
  • Develop and update company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and oversee regulatory litigation and enforcement actions.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including legal, finance, operations, and human resources, to provide regulatory support and advice.
  • Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior within the company.

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate law, preferably with experience in a corporate legal department.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory law and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
  • Strong negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with various stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards.
  • Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
