Job Summary:
The position of Counsel, Corporate and Regulatory Compliance will provide advice and counsel on behalf of the General Counsel's Office on matters, including advertising and trademark, audits and investigations, fares and tolls, interagency agreements, legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures, and state and federal compliance under the supervision and management of the Senior Lead Counsel and the Managing Counsel of the Corporate and Regulatory Center of Excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice relative to compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Draft MassDOT/ A Government Agency policies and procedures.
  • Interpret court decisions and agency opinions, statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Draft and negotiate interagency agreements with local, state, and federal entities.
  • Provide advice on intellectual property and bankruptcy issues.
  • Respond to inquiries, whether from a customer, vendor, or co-worker, in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Perform all other duties and projects that may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Juris doctor degree from an accredited institution.
  • Membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar.
  • At least two (2) years' experience as a practicing attorney.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to pass a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check, comprehensive background screening, and medical Clinic screening, potentially including a physical examination and drug and alcohol screenings
  • Ability to work all shifts and / or locations assigned, directed, or necessary for this position, including (for some transit / operations roles) up to twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week as necessary to accommodate severe weather conditions, emergencies, or any other circumstances that may potentially impact service or the safety of service
