Illinois-Licensed Business Law Attorney (Remote)

Description:

Boutique corporate law with 25 attorneys is seeking an Illinois-licensed business law attorney who lives in the Chicago area. This is a fully remote position.

This is a part-time position, paid by the hour. The workflow will likely be uneven and could be as low as 2-3 hours some weeks and 15-20 others. Over time, it could evolve into a full-time position, depending on workflow and preferences of the attorney and firm.

Hourly compensation ranges from $100/hour to $250/hour, depending on experience. Attorneys also receive credit for bringing in work that is done by other attorneys in the firm.

Candidates should have at least five years of experience in at least two or more of the following areas:

• Negotating, drafting, and reviewing commercial contracts.
• Corporate governance.
• Securities offerings.
• SEC enforcement matters.
• M&A
• Credit & loan agreements.
• Fund formation.
• Real estate transactions.

Experience in representing businesses in the cannabis, money service business, or financial institution sectors is a plus, but not required.

Applicants must be licensed in Illinois and live in the Chicago.

Prior experience at a large law firm or in a large corporate legal department strongly preferred.

An interest in and ability to generate business for the firm is a strong plus, but not a requirement.
