Responsibilities and practice:
A Worlds Largest Law Firm is seeking a junior or mid-level associate to join our sophisticated Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. Candidates should have 2-5 years of litigation experience, including insurance coverage litigation experience, and excellent academic credentials. Our associates work collaboratively with our partners and clients and are key members of our team. Expected responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Drafting complex case evaluations, drafting pleadings, motions and other litigation documents
  • Working on all aspects of litigation from inception through trial and appeal where relevant
  • Conducting legal research and writing memoranda
  • Conducting, propounding and responding to discovery (documents, written discovery, depositions)
  • Working with clients, witnesses, experts and other counsel
  • Analyzing insurance coverage and extra-contractual disputes, including drafting coverage opinions or other coverage analyses

Based on years of experience, A Worlds Largest Law Firm associates may have a title of Associate, Managing Associate, or Senior Managing Associate.

Technical skills:
  • 2-5 years of litigation experience, including insurance coverage litigation experience
  • Strong writing and case management skills, direct experience handling clients and adversaries, and excellent oral advocacy skills
  • Federal District Court or Appellate clerkship is a plus

Other Requirements:
  • Must be licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and be in good standing (or candidates may also be licensed in any US state or territory if they are also eligible to waive into the District of Columbia Bar pursuant to DC Court of Appeals Rule 49 and agree to apply for an Exception to admission immediately upon accepting an offer of employment)
