Responsibilities:
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support complex IP litigation cases, particularly in antitrust litigation
  • Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
  • Conduct discovery and take depositions
  • Represent clients in court proceedings and hearings
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external parties to gather necessary information for cases
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients
  • Advise clients on their rights and obligations and consult them on business aspects of various anti-trust and intellectual property (IP) matters involving copyrights, patents, trademarks, and trade secrets.
  • Safeguards innovators and creators by preventing others from misappropriating achievements and accomplishments for financial gain.
  • Manages IP needs including drafting, negotiating, interpreting, and advising clients on IP related agreements, such as non-disclosure agreements, license agreements, and IP provisions in commercial agreements, such as manufacturing agreements and supply agreements.
  • Utilizes knowledge of patents or ownership interests in scientific inventions, such as software, machines, and medicines; trademarks or ownership of interests in logos, symbols, and slogans used to identify goods and services; copyrights or ownership interests in written and artistic expressions such as novels, screenplays, songs, architectural drawings, and paintings; and trade secrets or ownership of formulas, patterns, and devices used by companies to make their products unique.
  • Evaluates inventions to determine patentability; and drafts, files, presents, and defends applications before the USPTO and foreign counterparts.
  • Prepares applications for patents, drafts legal documents, and represents and defends clients in court.
  • May represent writers, musicians, inventors, directors, producers, or firms to preserve trade secrets including brand images, product designs, formulas, and production techniques.

Qualifications:
Requires a Juris Doctorate and 5 years previous experience
