Responsibilities:
  • Prepare or review correspondence and legal documents such as briefs, RFEs, motions, and USCIS applications
  • Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings, EOIR court, and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters and advise clients on solutions
  • Communicate and assist other associates, team members, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
  • Handle pre-sale consultations and assist the legal team with qualification questions
  • Handle client communications in all forms
  • Work with multiple teams to protect the interests of the firm and to assure management that clients' cases are being properly processed
  • Learn and utilize case management processes and internal working systems
  • Training and process improvement assistance as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information
  • Other tasks or responsibilities as needed
  • Collaborate with clients and senior associates and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently
  • Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
  • Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action
  • Perform legal research, prepare for and attend hearings or other legal proceedings, and give general counsel under the supervision of senior associate attorneys
  • Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff

Qualifications:
  • J.D. from an Accredited Law School
  • Active Bar License in Good Standing from any US State or PR
  • Fluent in Spanish - preferred
  • Thrives in a challenging and fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
  • Demonstrates strong analytical abilities required to accurately articulate the critical issues of complex cases
  • Possesses superior and creative legal research and writing skills
  • Exhibits computer literacy, particularly with Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and related software
  • Works in a supportive, professional manner with other attorneys, support staff, and clients
  • Communicates well in the office and in the courtroom
  • Self-sufficient enough to complete tasks without supervision
  • Team management proficiency and solution-based problem-solving
  • Recognize the need and uphold confidentiality at all times
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school
  • Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients
  • Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA)
  • Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base
  • Candidates must have passed the bar exam
