Description:

An Environmental Law Firm seeks a candidate with two to five years of experience to join our firm. The ideal candidate must have substantive litigation experience, with a desire to become a leader in cases involving challenging legal issues. All candidates should have a strong academic background, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Candidates must have the following qualifications:
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • Status as an active member in good standing of the bar in at least one state or the District of Columbia and the ability to become admitted to the bar in one of the jurisdictions in which our offices are located.
  • Manage and lead document review teams of various sizes, including preparing document review manuals, providing input on document review processes, and identifying substantive review workflows.
  • Conduct thorough quality control reviews of legal documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify and rectify any inconsistencies or errors in document production.
  • Create and maintain detailed privilege logs, accurately reflecting privileged documents and communications.
  • Summarize complex legal documents, including evidentiary documents, depositions, discovery responses, and other case-related materials.
  • Provide concise and clear summaries to assist the legal team in case preparation.
  • Develop detailed and accurate chronologies of case events to support litigation strategy.
  • Analyze and organize case facts to construct clear and comprehensive timelines.
  • Assist in deposition preparation, including identifying and organizing potential exhibits, and summarizing relevant events concerning the witness.
  • Assist in all aspects of trial preparation, including organizing and managing trial exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
  • Coordinate with attorneys and paralegals to ensure readiness for trial.
  • Strong analytical, research, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to work well under deadlines, and ability to assume significant client responsibilities.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with, or demonstrated interest in, the major environmental statutes, such as the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, and CERCLA.
  • RCA certification
