Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Patent Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of patent litigation, from pre-litigation counseling and analysis through trial and appeal. The role requires in-depth knowledge of patent law, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex litigation cases effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Litigation Management: Lead and manage all phases of patent litigation, including pre-litigation investigations, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, trial, and appeals.
  • Case Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive litigation strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients. Provide strategic advice to clients regarding litigation risks and opportunities.
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research on patent law and related legal issues. Analyze and interpret statutes, regulations, and case law.
  • Document Preparation: Draft and file legal documents, including complaints, answers, motions, briefs, and other pleadings. Ensure all filings comply with court requirements and deadlines.
  • Discovery: Oversee the discovery process, including managing document review, conducting depositions, and responding to discovery requests. Work with experts to develop technical arguments and support case strategies.
  • Court Appearances: Represent clients in court hearings, status conferences, and trial proceedings. Present oral arguments, examine witnesses, and advocate for clients' positions.
  • Client Communication: Maintain regular contact with clients to provide updates on case status, discuss case strategy, and advise on potential outcomes and risks.
  • Negotiation: Engage in settlement discussions and negotiations with opposing counsel to achieve favorable resolutions for clients.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management and high-quality legal representation.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with developments in patent law and litigation practices. Participate in continuing legal education (CLE) programs and industry conferences.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensure: Admission to the state bar and in good standing. Admission to relevant federal courts is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in patent litigation, including experience with trial and appellate work.
  • Technical Background: A Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., engineering, computer science, chemistry, biology) is preferred.
