As a senior counsel in An Insurance Company's Corporate Legal organization, you'll be responsible for managing commercial litigation including a variety of consumer-to-business and business-to-business disputes, pre-litigation matters, and third-party subpoenas. You'll partner with outside counsel, other legal services providers, and other functions in Corporate Legal to develop and execute litigation strategy, protect An Insurance Company's business interests, and serve as a strategic legal partner to An Insurance Company's business operations.

Must have qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate
  • Active license to practice law in at least one state; Active or Corporate license in state where working
  • Minimum 5 years of legal experience/training

Preferred Skills:
  • Expertise managing all phases of the e-discovery process, collaborating closely with e-discovery vendors, advising on discovery across matters, facilitating privilege reviews and legal holds, and related processes
  • Experience representing defendant corporations, including public companies, in consumer-to-business and business-to-business litigation
  • Hands-on commercial/business litigation experience, including substantive motion practice, managing discovery and representing clients in court proceedings, settlement discussions and at mediation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify and effectively communicate complex legal issues to business line stakeholders
  • Advanced legal research and analysis skills and ability to apply research analysis practically to commercial/business litigation
  • Ability to work collaboratively, advocate appropriately in team settings, and influence and persuade team members and business partners at all levels tactfully and effectively
