What you will be responsible for
Our platform, A Software Company One, is one of the world's leading investment management solutions used globally by international financial institutions and equity funds.

As our new Senior Legal Counsel, your main focus will be to support SimCorp's sales teams in connection with new customer contracts, extensions of existing customer engagements and provision of professional services. You will work directly with the management and business of SimCorp, serving as lead counsel on strategic deals.

Other responsibilities will include:
  • Contribute to the establishment and continuous refinement of contracts (SaaS, BPaaS)
  • Cooperate with group procurement in connection with negotiating and drafting different supplier agreements.
  • Resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries, through day-to-day advice.
  • Provide ad-hoc advice on various legal matters such as intellectual property rights, company law and various other areas of law.

Your job will focus on negotiation of large SaaS and services contracts in our North American market unit, and you will therefore be expected to travel regularly within the US and Canada for negotiations and to support the cooperation with the North American market unit.

What we value (our requirements)
As our preferred candidate you:
  • Have a degree in law and have been practicing as an in-house counsel or as an attorney for at least 5 years
  • Have experience with drafting and negotiating complex contracts
  • Know the legal aspects of software as a service and IT outsourcing
  • Have a good understanding of commercial issues and are able to balance the need for sound business advice with the need for maintaining a high standard of legal advice

To succeed in this role, you thrive in a hectic, yet informal environment and are able to turn around requests for advice at short notices. You have strong interpersonal skills and can interact with and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior management.
