Description:

As Strategic Patent Counsel, you will develop our patent strategy, ensuring we stay ahead in a constantly evolving tech landscape. You will be responsible for managing A Vector Graphics Editor & Prototyping Tool's patent portfolio, overseeing global applications, and collaborating with clients across the business.

This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.

What you'll do at A Vector Graphics Editor & Prototyping Tool:
  • Develop A Vector Graphics Editor & Prototyping Tool's patent strategy, based on A Vector Graphics Editor & Prototyping Tool's strategic and competitive position
  • Manage A Vector Graphics Editor & Prototyping Tool's patent portfolio and related activities, including invention identification, invention disclosure meetings, and overseeing global patent application preparation and prosecution
  • Prepare invention disclosures, provisional patent applications and utility patent applications, including drawings and figures
  • Work collaboratively with clients and manage outside counsel and service providers to support patent related work
  • Train, educate, and counsel product, engineering teams, and other partners in patent matters
  • Support IP aspects of technology transactions, as well as patent acquisitions, licensing, and litigation

We'd love to hear from you if you have:
  • 8+ years combined of patent prosecution experience and in-house patent counseling experience (if applicable)
  • Experience with patent acquisitions
  • A proven track record of translating complex ideas into easily understood concepts

While not required, it's an added plus if you also have:
  • Strong technical capability and written communication skills
  • Experience building a patent program from the ground up
  • Ability to influence others within a diverse, global, cross-functional team
