Characteristic Duties:
  • Provide direct representation to clients in excessive sentencing cases, expungements, and pardons; represent parents in deprived proceedings; represent clients in uncontested, no asset, no children divorces; and provide representation addressing certain legal needs of small businesses in the targeted Communities;
  • Provide supervision, training, and feedback to law students in all aspects of their clinic work, including the representation of: clients in excessive sentencing cases, expungements, and pardons; parents in deprived proceedings; clients in uncontested, no asset, no children divorces; and addressing certain legal needs of small businesses in the targeted Communities;
  • Build on the training program for TU Legal Clinic faculty and staff regarding certain identified areas of practice.
  • Coordinate with TU Legal Clinic faculty, staff, and fellows to provide holistic representation to TU Legal Clinic clients.
  • Develop relationships and engage with residents and leaders of the targeted communities to identify and address pressing legal needs.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an ABA-approved law school and licensed to practice in Oklahoma by time of hire
  • Minimum of 5 years legal practice experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to access and equal justice for all;
  • Prior experience working with low-income and other marginalized communities;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds; and
  • Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, research and writing, and public speaking skills.
