The Denver office of A Super-Regional Firm with A National Practice is seeking an Associate for our ultra-high-net worth estate and tax planning team. The ideal candidate wants to be a collaborative member of our team with the goal of becoming one of our partners. We are looking for an Associate with an entrepreneurial attitude, a strong work ethic, leadership abilities, and a desire to learn from a group of dedicated attorneys. Associates in the estate planning and tax team receive first chair opportunities quickly, have direct client interaction, and are mentored toward achieving partnership in the firm.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develop and draft complex estate planning documents for ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
  • Manage and administer large and complex estates and trusts.
  • Assist with preparation and filing of gift and estate tax returns.
  • Continue to develop skills to counsel clients on a broad range of estate and tax planning strategies.
  • Model and summarize advanced wealth transfer techniques.
  • Participate in client meetings and take the lead on ensuring that our deliverables to the client are well analyzed, well drafted, clear, concise, and timely.

Requirements:
  • J.D. from an ABA accredited school.
  • 2 - 5 years of experience as an attorney.
  • Admitted to practice in Colorado, eligible to sit for the Colorado Bar Exam, or able to be waived in.
  • For experienced candidates, familiarity with wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents. Relevant estate and gift tax and business entity experience preferred.
  • Exceptional writing ability.
  • High level of attention to detail,
  • A client service approach, including the ability to communicate and coordinate with clients and clients' advisors.
  • Must be a self-starter and team player. Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in an inclusive, diverse work environment.
