About the team and the role:
An American Multinational E-Commerce Corporation is currently hiring for a Trade and Commercial Counsel. This could be your chance to practice groundbreaking law for an innovative global tech company! An American Multinational E-Commerce Corporation seeks an agile and creative attorney to join the legal team supporting An American Multinational E-Commerce Corporation's business and product teams! This is a full-time position based in the Bay Area. We would consider candidates based in San Francisco, San Jose or potentially other U.S. locations.

What you will accomplish:
  • In this role, you will provide legal support on the roll out of new features and functionality, categories and products. Clients could include teams within Focused Categories, Shipping, and/or Cross Border Trade.
  • As a strong issue spotter on commercial, regulatory, IP, privacy, marketing and consumer protection issues, you will work closely with specialists in our broader legal department to provide business-focused, end-to-end legal support and solutions to business and technology leaders.
  • This role may include some strategic partnership and commercial work.
  • You will also interact regularly with functional groups within the Company on both transactional work and policy review, including Finance, Accounting, Corporate Development, Marketing, Tax, Information Security, Privacy, Government Relations, Trust and Risk.

What you will bring:
  • 5+ years of post-qualification experience or suitable work experience in the technology space or logistics, with a preference for platform-based business models.
  • Experience in the following areas desired:
    • Commercial structuring, drafting, and negotiation
    • International Trade
    • Regulatory
    • Consumer protection
    • Logistics
    • Import/Export Compliance
    • Privacy/data protection
  • Ability to build positive relationships quickly and interact with junior to senior business leaders with ease
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible and agile problem solver, with the ability to tolerate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to cherish innovation, be a change maker, and believe that there is always room for improvement
  • Flexibility with the scope and variety of projects to be undertaken

  • JD from an ABA accredited law school
  • State Bar membership in good standing

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.
