To grow and strengthen Tennessee, the department seeks to attract new corporate investment to the state and works with Tennessee companies to facilitate expansion and economic growth.

Overview:

Assisting with review, processing, tracking, and reporting for economic development grants and clawback agreements.
Assisting with processing of default notifications for clawback agreements.
Assisting with litigation tracking, discovery, and requests for information related to litigation.
Assisting with drafting and tracking all agency grant contracts, professional service contracts, and ad hoc agreements.
Assisting with procurement of goods and services in a manner that ensures compliance with all state requirements (e.g., drafts small purchase agreements for goods and services within local purchase threshold and assists with all phases of request for proposals process).
Ensuring compliance with all state laws, rules, and policies throughout the contracting process, including drafting rule exception requests, special contract requests, and other documents as needed.
Assisting with review and response to public records requests.
Assisting with review of nondisclosure agreements.
Performing other tasks as assigned by the General Counsel.

Required Experience:

Graduation from an accredited undergraduate college or university.
Graduation from an accredited law school.
Active Tennessee law license in good standing or pending admission to the Tennessee bar.
Analytical ability and strong attention to detail;
Strong organization and time management skills;
Strong written and oral communication skills; and
Strong computer skills (will be required to use Microsoft Word/Excel, PeopleSoft Edison, and Microsoft Dynamics Customer Relationship Management on a daily basis).
