Opportunity | Associate Attorney
A Premier Defense Litigation Law Firm seeks a highly-motivated Associate Attorney with at least three to five years' experience in the fields of insurance defense, premise liability defense, worker's compensation, and/or product liability defense. Other areas of practice may also be considered. Must be licensed to practice in Louisiana. However, licensure in Mississippi and other additional state admissions is a plus. - ability to move from case to case efficiently; and,
- knowledge of both state and federal court procedures.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include handling all aspects of litigation. The following are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to do this job successfully under the direction of a partner:
- draft, prepare and handle pleadings, motions, orders and legal memoranda;
- draft and respond to written discovery and dispositive motions;
- conduct legal research competently and with proficiency;
- prepare and take depositions of parties and experts;
- review client documents, draft case evaluations and status report correspondence;
- assist in trial preparation and trial; and,
- assist with and participate in mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances;
