About the Job:
A Houston-Based Law Firm is seeking an associate attorney with 3-5 years of experience to support its Construction Law practice in its Houston office. With this position, you will have the opportunity to work in all phases of construction litigation, including drafting pleadings and discovery, participating in depositions, and attending court hearings. Although we would prefer that you have some experience in construction law, we are also interested in highly skilled attorneys with knowledge and practice in any area of commercial litigation. Additionally, we prefer that you have an interest in representing governmental entities, including school districts, community colleges or institutions of higher education.

Responsibilities:
  • Day-to-day handling of all phases of construction litigation.
  • Conduct legal research, analyze case law, and develop effective legal strategies.
  • Draft, review, and ?le legal documents, pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases, learning from their expertise.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including document production and review.
  • Attend client meetings and maintain clear communication throughout cases.
  • Be informed of changes in construction laws and regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Strong academic background
  • Admission to the Texas Bar and in good standing
  • Three or more years of experience practicing law with a focus on construction law
  • Ability to successfully handle litigation with limited supervision
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
