Qualified candidates will have an active Virginia bar license.Qualified candidates will have 2-5 years experience in family law . Your Legal Advocates is an AV Preeminent rated law firm with an office in Manassas, Virginia. This position will handle family law matters primarily in Prince William, Fairfax, Loudoun, Fauquier, and Stafford counties.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various litigation matters
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Prepare for and attend court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the litigation process
- Assist with document management and organization
- Conduct legal administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Virginia state bar association
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Experience with Westlaw for legal research purposes
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound advice
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
