Job Purpose:
This full-time position works as part of a busy team of attorneys, legal assistants, analysts, and other professionals in the Ohio practice group to ensure that clients receive timely, efficient, and tailored solutions to their real property tax questions. Potential for hybrid work schedule after initial training/orientation period in office.

Principal (Essential) Duties
  • Legal research and writing
  • Drafting and responding to discovery
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, petitions, and answers
  • Review appraisals and valuation materials
  • Handle a volume litigation caseload in fast paced environment
  • Significant travel throughout Ohio's counties for administrative and court appearances.
  • Appear at administrative level hearings throughout Ohio.
  • Appear at trial court and court of appeals case conferences, oral arguments, and hearings.
  • Attend training on real estate valuation provided by the law firm
  • Attend property inspections throughout Ohio.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education and Requirements
  • Licensed to practice law in Ohio.
  • 1-5 years litigation experience.
  • Will consider candidates directly out of law school who have demonstrated interest in litigation and/or real estate in their law school career.
  • Ability to drive regularly throughout Ohio's counties.
  • Undergraduate degree in finance/accounting/real estate a plus but not required.
  • Experience in administrative law a plus but not required.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
  • Perform light work – exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment such as telephone, copier, scanner, computer, etc.
