Description:

An American Law Firm is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Business Group. The position offers the opportunity to work in a robust practice doing mergers and acquisitions and general corporate transactions. The associate will work alongside a team known for combining its extensive corporate experience with in-depth regulatory knowledge to represent entities in the insurance and financial services industries.

Qualifications include:
  • 3-5 years of experience in a wide variety of M&A transactions
  • M&A experience should include performing and overseeing due diligence, managing specialists, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, and coordinating closings and post-closing matters
  • Solid working knowledge of general corporate law and related matters, including choice of entity and entity formation and governance
  • Experience in other corporate or transactional matters, such as joint ventures and commercial contracts
  • A strong academic record, having earned a J.D. from a nationally recognized and accredited school
  • Must be admitted to practice in Georgia or waive admission to the Georgia Bar

  • Effective and persuasive writing and oral communication skills; law review or other comparable experience indicating significant research and writing skills a plus
  • Ability to manage a fast-paced workload while maintaining priorities and anticipating issues
