Position Overview:

Our Impact:
  • The Mortgage Securities team provides hands-on legal counsel and execution support for mortgage-related securitization programs and other securities-related transactions.
  • This includes Single-Family and Multifamily securities and support of related company and Federal Housing Finance Agency initiatives such as ESG and other equity initiatives, development of new products, the Single Security, and the Common Securitization Platform.

Your Impact:
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to capital markets clients in securitization transactions and provide direct counsel on program improvements and innovations. Your advice will help craft company policies and operations and impact the industry in furtherance of A Public Government-Sponsored Enterprise's mission.
  • Collaborate with peers, manage teams of outside counsel and internal legal professionals to close deals and interact on behalf of the company with regulators and professional organizations.
  • Lead the Legal team to bring to market complex securitization offerings in partnership with various business units.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree; membership in good standing in a state Bar and a minimum of eight years of legal experience; Typically has 10-12 years of related work experience.
  • Experience in securitization and capital markets transactions with a major law firm or corporate law department.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal securities laws and securities market practices.
  • Ability to complete, lead and manage transactions, including drafting and negotiating transaction/disclosure documents in sophisticated residential and/or commercial mortgage-related securities transactions.
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory policy issues affecting the securities and MBS markets.
