A Solar Energy Company in Houston, Texasr, a leading provider of solar energy to over 53,000 customers, is seeking a Commercial Attorney to join its legal team in the Company's Houston Office. Primary responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, and analyzing various legal documents, conducting legal research, rendering legal advice to multiple departmental groups, and helping the legal team with its general corporate matters. Candidates should have 3-5 years' experience as an attorney and a strong willingness to work in a tight-knit legal team.

Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position are as follows:
  • Review and edit various forms of business agreements including but not limited to, non-disclosure agreements, leases, employee agreements, vendor agreements, IT agreements, shareholder agreements, by laws, and mergers/acquisition documents
  • Work closely with company business groups and render legal advice tailored to each business group and the market within which they operate
  • Provide legal support to the Chief Legal Officer and Deputy General Counsel
  • Draft, review, promote and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Review solar agreements and assist the legal team in resolving contractual disputes with customers
  • Provide general legal advice on proposed and existing commercial arrangements
  • Anticipate legal concerns regarding business transactions and identify and mitigate risks accordingly
  • Prepare and review documents in response to discovery requests
  • Successfully complete special projects and other assignments as requested
  • Oversee junior paralegals and other support staff in legal matters

Skills Or Experience
Candidates should possess the following experience and skills:
  • 3-5 years of work experience as a Commercial Lawyer in a Law firm or government agency
  • Expertise in commercial, corporate, and business law
  • Valid license to practice law in the State of Texas
  • Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
  • Experience in providing effective legal support for myriad operational activities
  • Excellent verbal, written, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to conduct extensive legal research using Westlaw or Lexis Nexis
  • Ability to prioritize and handle numerous competing demands in a high-volume, fast-paced working environment
  • Proven ability to work independently and effectively
