Job Description:
As a key member of our legal team at A Cloud-Based Customer Service Software Company, you will play a pivotal role in advising and supporting our Partner, Channels, and Strategic Alliances teams. Your expertise will be instrumental in navigating the complexities of global partner programs, providing critical legal counsel, and crafting robust agreements that facilitate our business growth. From drafting and negotiating commercial contracts to ensuring compliance with international laws, you will contribute significantly to our partnerships' operational efficiency and success worldwide.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements with partners, including channel, reseller, referral, managed services, marketplace and other agreements
  • Build and enhance end-to-end operational processes across finance, legal, and business teams to streamline repeatable decision-making and approvals to increase the velocity of deal closures and efficiently support the business
  • Work closely with Sales, Finance, Deals Desk, and Professional Services to support the Partner, Channels, and Strategic Alliances teams in achieving business outcomes
  • Negotiate applicable partnership-related data processing agreements, business associate agreements, and other similar compliance-driven agreements directly with partners to support compliance obligations
  • Remain current on applicable laws and regulations surrounding IP, Open Source, privacy and security

Please note this is a hybrid role that requires an in-office presence (3x/week) from either our San Mateo, CA (HQ) or Bellevue, WA office locations.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school and license to practice law in California or Washington state
  • 6-9 years of experience as a transactional attorney from a leading business law firm or in-house experience with the legal department, preferably in a multi-national company; drafting and negotiating partner and channel agreements, SaaS agreements, customer agreements, professional service agreements, vendor agreements, data processing agreements, and intellectual property agreements
  • Ability to use sound and practical business judgment and think "outside the box" to address complex matters with creative solutions and communicate to non-legal business partners in a sensible manner
  • Strong interpersonal and written/ verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity working across the globe to support multiple time zones and cultures across remote/ global teams
  • Solid knowledge of business processes relating to commercial, contract, intellectual property, and international data privacy and data protection law
  • Highly responsive and service-oriented attitude with the ability to work under strict timelines with attention to detail and efficiency, demonstrating a strong work ethic and sense of accountability, professionalism, and discretion
  • Self-motivated with the ability to independently organize prioritize, and manage multiple activities/deadlines and handle high volumes simultaneously
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting, and maintain strong working relationships with multiple internal clients, and work effectively with finance, operations, professional services, and other business team members
