As a member of our Government Contracts Practice Area (“GCPA”), you'll help propel our forward-thinking and purpose-driven team as we advance our clients' missions. You'll serve as a government contracts attorney providing support and leveraging experience with federal procurement transactions at all stages, as well as regulatory compliance, as part of a broader legal department and the team of government contracts attorneys supporting the federal business across civil, defense, and intelligence “Sectors”. You'll support as the lead GCPA point of contact for Markets within our Global Defense Sector and work on a wide range of complex transactional issues at the prime and subcontract levels and provide legal advice and counsel for Market leaders and their teams. You'll anticipate business needs and develop practical solutions with agility and action. You'll establish trusted partnerships across the firm and collaborate with fellow members of the Legal, Ethics & Compliance team to protect and advance the company while navigating the complex, multifaceted, and often novel legal and compliance risks we face today. You Have:
  • 8+ years of experience practicing law in a law firm, corporate, or government environment
  • Experience with government contracts law, including FAR, DFARS, federal procurement statutes and regulations, and bid protest jurisprudence
  • Experience leading or assisting with prime contract and subcontract negotiations, pre-award support such as RFP reviews, and post-award counseling such as debriefings and protest assessments
  • Experience partnering closely with business leaders to develop comprehensive solutions to problems
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to evaluate risks and root causes, and to aid in designing and implementing practical mitigation strategies or action plans
  • Ability to listen actively and ensure that the right questions are being asked and answered
  • Ability to translate legalese or regulations into succinct, clear, and workable business solutions
  • Ability to execute against clear goals, priorities, and success metrics and KPIs, and manage against program plans
  • J.D. or LL. B degree from country of residence, including active bar admission with any U.S. state bar

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with commercial contract negotiation, including federal or non-federal
  • Experience with government contracting, including in a professional services firm
  • Experience with government contracts regulatory framework, especially rules and considerations for Post-Government Employment and competition and antitrust, organizational, and personal conflicts of interest, or gifts and antikickbacks
  • Experience advising on information security statutes, regulations, and compliance frameworks, including FISMA, DFARS, and NIST
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
