Responsibilities:
We are seeking an entry-level practice group associate (PGA) to join our team. Please note this is an off-track position.
  • Review and file non-immigrant (L, H, TN, O, E-1/2/3, B-1/2, J-1) and immigrant (PERM, I-130, EB-1 (all), I-140, I-485, N-400) petitions and applications with government agencies and consulates under the direction of a supervising attorney
  • Collaborate with legal assistants, paralegals and supervising attorney for assigned cases
  • Stay current on business immigration law developments
  • Conduct research and draft alerts, publications and blog posts
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives, as needed
  • Participate in training sessions and other firm and section related activities
  • Regularly review client-facing and internal reports to monitor case activity and new case initiations

Collaboration with team members is an important component of any role at A General Practice, Full Service Law Firm. Therefore, the firm encourages working from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with the firm's published guidelines.

Qualifications:
  • Graduated with a JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Admitted or eligible for admission in CA, DC, MA or NY
  • Minimum two years of experience in business immigration law and/or immigration clerkship
  • Entry-level candidates with business immigration experience will be considered
  • Experience reviewing reports and monitoring data compliance in immigration-focused database
  • Docket and time management skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings
  • Ability to stay organized and exercise attention to detail

Requirements:
  • Ability to use business systems (e.g., telephone, computer) and electronic resources
  • Ability to read, review and edit electronic and hard copy forms for final submission
  • Ability to complete electronic and hard copy forms to ensure compliance with section processes and quality control measures
  • Ability to communicate via email, written correspondence, phone and in person with clients, colleagues, opposing counsel and government agencies
  • Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work extended hours and/or travel based on client needs
  • Ability to lift files that weigh up to 10 pounds
