A Company Provides Pharmaceutical Support Services is seeking a highly motivated, talented, and client-focused commercial attorney prepared to support the company's global legal, compliance, and contracting requirements with a primary emphasis on supporting colleagues in operations in reviewing and drafting commercial contracting (client and vendor). The position will report to A Company Provides Pharmaceutical Support Services's Chief Legal Officer and work closely with other legal, contracting, compliance, privacy and security team members.

Specific job duties:
  • Provide primary legal support with structuring, drafting, and negotiating a wide variety of client and vendor commercial contracts, including master service agreements, statements of work, change orders, investigator site agreements, vendor/subcontractor agreements, third-party access agreements, data sharing agreements, data privacy agreements, technology licenses, consulting agreements, real estate leases, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Become a subject matter expert in A Company Provides Pharmaceutical Support Services's contract policies and practices, and drive efficiencies and improvements in contracting policies, processes, and forms. Implement and update standard contract terms and templates.
  • Provide commercial and sales leaders across the company with guidance on complex legal and compliance issues.
  • Provide strategic advice on complex commercial issues, including deal structures and risk management across the full spectrum of legal and risk issues presented to the A Company Provides Pharmaceutical Support Services Legal Department.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
  • J.D. degree and membership in at least one state bar
  • 4 to 6 years of legal experience at a law firm and/or in-house corporate legal department
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred, whether on the manufacturer side or pharma services side, with more specific experience in clinical CRO or commercial segments
  • Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
  • Possess (and deliver to the client) a natural can-do, practical problem solving orientation
  • Experience negotiating successfully with biopharmaceutical companies is preferred but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to develop a deep understanding of internal and external clients and vendor businesses to identify creative, practical solutions that address client needs while minimizing risk
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels of the company
