Description:

Represent clients in patent litigation matters in Federal district courts and/or the International Trade Commission in areas of science and/or technology, in particular those involving electrical engineering, software development, wireless communications technologies, and consumer products; perform legal research and writing; draft legal memoranda; argue motions; analyze complex patent issues; perform due diligence on infringement and validity issues; assist in challenges before United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), including reexamination and inter partes review; conduct academic and patent research; work with expert witnesses to prepare expert reports; take and defend depositions; perform complex technical analyses in electrical engineering, software development, wireless communications technologies, and consumer products; partner with other attorneys to protect intellectual property rights for clients; research, review and/or analyze prior art for relevance to client technologies; prepare concise, accurate, and relevant technical arguments and/or analyses in line with fundamental intellectual property concepts; follow ethical requirements as set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the state bar; perform tasks to budget; review and analyze newly assigned and existing matters in order to provide legal representation until matter is concluded; draft all necessary documents to provide legal representation to clients; perform necessary legal research using all available resources including libraries and computer data systems; formulate and issue well-founded legal opinions to clients; effectively conduct negotiations. Remote work permissible within reasonable commuting distance.

Job Requirements:
The position requires the minimum of a Juris Doctor (JD) and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics, and two months of experience as a law clerk/summer associate or attorney at an Am Law 100 firm in patent litigation involving electrical engineering, software development, wireless communications technologies, or consumer products.

Must be licensed to practice law in the State of New York.

Must be eligible to sit for the USPTO examination or licensed with USPTO.

10% domestic and international travel required as needed for client meetings and trials.
