We are seeking an experienced and talented attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role assisting the General Counsel to build the Legal function, developing legal processes and workflows, and providing guidance to senior leaders on complex legal issues. This role requires experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, exceptional judgment and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

This position is available to candidates residing in the New York City Metro and Washington DC Areas.

Essential Job Duties:
  • Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, including SaaS agreements, MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, and vendor agreements
  • Review and provide input on responding to RFPs
  • Develop, implement, and improve contracting policies and procedures
  • Prepare and updated form contracts
  • Assess legal risks and provide strategic advice to mitigate potential liabilities
  • Assist in preparation of board and committee presentations and other materials
  • Provide legal guidance and support on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters
  • Stay up-to-date with healthcare laws and regulations, ensuring organizational compliance with federal, state, and local laws

Travel Requirements:
  • Travel 10-25%, including overnight travel

Required Education, Experience, Certifications and Skills
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • 5+ years' legal experience, with preference for candidates with healthcare and/or state government contracting experience
  • Experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing work environment (prior experience in a SaaS startup or similar environment preferred)
  • Comfort working independently and communicating with executives and senior management
