As an Auto Business Development Attorney – Vice President, Assistant General Counsel within the Auto Legal team, you will provide trusted advice to business development, private label, and vendor relations teams. You will provide transactional support for Chase relationships with automotive manufacturers, distributors, dealers, technology companies, and service providers. You will counsel on issues related to marketing, finance, data sharing, IP, governance, and business and legal risks. Job Responsibilities:
  • Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements with automotive manufacturers, distributors, dealers, technology companies, and service providers.
  • Advise the business in a clear, pragmatic, and approachable manner on a wide array of issues, including marking campaigns, finance, data sharing, RFPs, governance, conflict resolution, IP, compliance, contract interpretations, and business and legal risks.
  • Actively collaborate with and influence other legal groups and internal stakeholders to advise the business on risks and mitigants.
  • Develop deep subject matter expertise in the auto industry and laws applicable to auto finance.
  • Drive open legal items to completion in a friendly, efficient, and pragmatic manner.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • At least 5 years of legal experience.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Deep legal experience with advising a business on risks and mitigants.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be able to simultaneously manage workloads, multiple clients' demands, and shifting priorities within a fast-paced, unpredictable, and rapidly evolving environment.
