Description:
The Staff Attorney assists Corporate Counsel in the Legal Department with efficiently supporting the legal and contract-related needs of the Business Unit on a national basis. To that end, Staff Attorney responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:- Reviewing proposed client contracts to identify deviations from the company's Contracting Standards
- Preparing detailed abstracts summarizing key notice and other provisions in client contracts
- Negotiating and documenting revisions to the company's standard subcontract documents
- Preparing project-specific flowdown provisions for subcontracts
- Supporting project teams with subcontract administration
- Performing data analysis to proactively support claims identification and management
- Supporting e-discovery and other litigation-related discovery activities
- Assisting with training, especially with respect to subcontracting
- Performing client contract negotiation and other required legal support for the company's program management and small projects groups
- Reviewing and negotiating non-disclosure, joint check, assignment and other agreements
Requirements:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, negotiation and legal reasoning skills
- Ability to manage workload independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility
Education and/or Experience:
- Law degree from accredited law school
- At least 5 years of experience in the field of construction law
- Admission to the bar in a State in the United States and in good standing to obtain in-house admission/certification, if required
