Job Summary: Provide legal review, advice, and support on a broad range of legal matters including strategic transactions, commercial contracting, and general corporate matters across the Pharmaceutical, medical device and contract manufacturing businesses of A Medical Equipment Manufacturer in Somerset, Wisconsin. Provide legal counsel in the drafting and negotiation of customer and supplier documents, with a focus on business risk and compliance, while demonstrating business acumen and understanding of business objectives in the following areas.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with all business functions and senior management. Actively assist company in achieving business objectives.
- Demonstrate strategic value and competence in applying legal skills to daily corporate, business, compliance and other matters.
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel to support contractual and commercial projects for the company's business operations and initiatives.
- Manage an experienced team pertaining to the Commercial Legal Responsibilities (listed below).
- Provide legal counsel in the drafting and negotiation of customer and supplier documents, with a focus on business risk and compliance, while demonstrating business acumen and understanding of business objectives in the following areas.
Commercial Legal Responsibilities:

Essential Qualifications:
- 5+ years of general commercial transactional/contracting experience at a major law firm and/or corporate in-house legal department.
- Experience and practical skills in commercial transactional/contracting matters.
- Excellent judgment and ability to operate in a fast-paced, legal department on a broad range of commercial and legal matters with a primary focus on negotiating complex contractual arrangements with customers and vendors, typically in connection with manufacturing services.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, outside counsel, business partners, and other stakeholders. Excellent analytical skills and people skills are essential.
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity
- Ability to act independently and as part of a team. Ability to provide solution-oriented, practical guidance in working with business management.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities, to work efficiently, to manage, and to conclude, in a timely manner, many agreements, projects, and issues.
Desirable Qualifications:
- HR / employment law experience preferred.
- Life sciences, pharma, and FDA compliance experience preferred.
- In-house legal department experience preferred.
ADA Requirements:
- Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer
- Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about occasionally
