Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled, driven and experienced General Counsel with litigation experience to join our company long term. If you have experience in injury related lawsuits, premise-liability cases and are willing to expand your knowledge into the other areas needed, then we encourage you to apply! As the General Litigation Counsel of Texas Excel Property Management, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all litigation/legal matters and providing legal support to protect the company's interests.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the company's litigation matters, including lawsuits, claims, and disputes.
  • Develop and implement effective legal strategies to protect the company's interests and achieve favorable outcomes in litigation.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to assess the merits of potential claims and defenses.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and external legal counsel, to develop litigation strategies and provide legal advice.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts and settlement agreements.
  • Represent the company in potential court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution forums.
  • Monitor and manage outside counsel, including selecting and retaining external legal resources when necessary.
  • Work with the city government and manage city ticketing for properties
  • Write weekly reports summarizing work

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Texas state bar and in good standing.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures, and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in legal document review and drafting.
