We are looking for an experienced Real Estate and Commercial Contracts Attorney with at least 10 years of experience to work together with the A Global Travel Tech Leader North America legal team. This role will be responsible for directly managing real estate, commercial contracts, and procurement related legal matters while providing strategic counsel to the Real Estate, Government Affairs, Business Development, IT and Procurement departments and other internal business partners. This position requires close collaboration and partnership with internal stakeholders, the business units, and other attorneys in the Legal department.

Your Tasks – Paint the world green
  • Primary legal responsibility for review and negotiation of real estate documents, such as leases, bus stop agreements, rights-of-way, and access agreements.
  • Advise Real Estate and Government Affairs Departments regarding day-to-day real-estate matters, including lease interpretation, acquisition of access rights, and land use and zoning issues.
  • Advise Government Affairs Department regarding communications with local, state, and federal authorities regarding acquisition, development, and renewal of terminal and bus stop rights, including direct negotiation with such authorities where appropriate.
  • Advise Business Development team on negotiation of agreements with bus contractors and marketplace and interline counterparties and participate in the development and revision of Company preferred form agreements.
  • Advise Procurement, IT and other departments on negotiation of agreements with vendors and suppliers, including the development and revision of Company preferred form agreements.
  • Respond to attorney letters, complaints and claims involving real estate matters and commercial contract disputes.
  • Assist with real estate related litigation.
  • Other legal duties as may be assigned by the General Counsel or requested by internal stakeholders.

Your Profile – Ready to hop on board
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited university
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a law practice, either in-house and/or with a national law firm. Subject-matter expertise in real estate and contract negotiation is strongly preferred.
  • Active license to practice law in at least one state
  • Experience providing responsive, practical, creative legal advice to businesses.
  • Ability to think strategically and evaluate potential risks to the Company, including economic, legal, and reputational.
  • Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision, and assume significant responsibility in keeping with the level of experience in employment law.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities while working with various stakeholders. Position may require travel.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively including to executive management and shareholders.
