An Architecture Firm in Dallas, Texas is actively seeking an experienced Architectural / Engineering /Construction Attorney to join our Dallas office to support the Chief Legal Officer (CLO). This person will exercise good judgement, be able to work independently without significant oversight, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. The Attorney will represent Corgan's culture, philosophy and brand by assisting others in a client-centric, courteous and professional manner always.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of negotiating and drafting commercial contracts.
  • Receive review requests, analyze requirements and determine required action.
  • Coordinate with CLO and outside counsel as necessary.
  • Oversight of entire legal department staff.
  • Oversight of all legal department functions as it relates to the practice side of the business.
  • Assist CLO with claim management.
  • Strategic oversight of legal department efficiencies.
  • Oversight of Risk Management training for the firm, in collaboration with Learning and Development.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by CLO.

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in a corporate legal team or in private practice with expertise in Architectural, Engineering and Construction matters.
  • Experience with American Institute of Architects Contract Documents.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to complete tasks without detailed instructions.
  • Experience providing quality service; building relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Experience leading a team of legal professionals.
  • Experience supporting senior leadership.

Desired Qualifications:
  • In house experience at an Architectural / Engineering / Construction firm as well as private practice experience.
  • Experience mentoring and developing junior attorneys.
  • Experience in supporting corporate retirement plans.
  • Experience in international practice requirements.
  • Experience in dealing with corporate compliance matters.
